We are health coaches looking to educate our clients and people on how to properly eat and apply healthy diet to their lifestyle
Marcia Ouellet has years of experience in the health, nutrition and culinary arena, most recently as the founder and former owner of BusyMomChef.com. BMC provided custom designed and prepared meals assisting families care for their children with food allergies, ADHD, cancer, gout, diabetes, obesity and fibromalagia.
Her healing journey began in 2006 when her 6 year old son was diagnosed with Petit Mal seizures. Despite the best traditional medical care that Boston had to offer, her son did not get well. In fact with all the medications he was taking he became withdrawn and zombie-like. His grades began to suffer and Marcia felt like her world was coming apart. She felt helpless in the face of her son’s condition. At that point Marcia decided to take control of this situation. She thought there might be another way to help her son so she enrolled in nutrition classes at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
During the many months of study that followed, Marcia learned of the often underappreciated effect that diet and eating habits can have on disease and other human ailments. With her newfound knowledge Marcia changed her son’s diet completely – 100% organic, gluten-free – and to that diet she added the power of supplements such as Fish Oil, B6, and Opc3. To Marcia’s joy and the Doctors astonishment, her son was healed in less than one year! Today he is a smart and healthy young man. A star athlete who is planning to attend college in 2019. During the 12 years since her son’s recovery Marcia has been on a mission to use her knowledge and experience to help others.
Today Marcia Ouellet is a board-certified Holistic Health Coach and Nutritionist. She received her training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting-edge Health Coach Program. During her training, she studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. Her teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, Leader in the field of Mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willet, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. Her education has equipped her with extensive knowledge of holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and her knowledge of different dietary theories, she works with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results by improving energy, balance, and health.
Her approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create a list of restriction or good and bad foods. Instead, she works with her clients to create happy, healthy lives in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding. She specializes in areas such achieving optimal weight, cancer, improving digestion, reducing food and sugar cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. Her focus is on whole foods, cleansing, healthy cooking, juicing, raw foods, vegetarian /vegan, and gluten-free lifestyles.
Here are some key concepts that she explores with her clients:
BIO-INDIVIDUALITY: the concept of bio-individuality is that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food could be another person’s poison and that is why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, Marcia will support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. She uses a personalized, holistic approach to ensure that you will have great success!
PRIMARY FOOD: It’s easy to overlook all the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, but all the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. She will support you in achieving all your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.
INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION PYRAMID: The Integrative Nutrition food pyramid includes a balance of high-quality vegetables, fruits, grains, proteins, healthy fats, and water. To complete the picture, the pyramid is surrounded by lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity, and spirituality. She will introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!
Health Coaches are educated and knowledgeable advisers who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. As your Health Coach, Marcia will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for you and give you the tools for a lifetime of balanced living.
As a Certified Holistic Nutritionist Marcia Ouellet helps people with chronic health issues regain their good health. She believes in finding and addressing the cause of health problems while helping clients avoid prescription medications that often just treat symptoms and not necessarily the cause of health problems. Her therapeutic nutrition plans are built around using “safe” foods, targeted nutrients and lifestyle changes to bring the body back to health. Her holistic approach goes beyond nutrition to address the whole person.
Since I was a child I have constipation disorder, I remember one time when I was around 18 I went to the doctor and he said if I continue eating junk food, a lot of bad carbohydrates and sugar my constipation will not cure! Because I was young and without any knowledge about a healthy lifestyle I didn’t do anything that he recommended me to do.
As I got older and older, other health issues also started, Not just me but my husband and my daughter too. A couple of years ago I started a new program on my family lifestyle, trying to eat clean food, 100% organic, less animal protein, gluten-free and most of all raw.
My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia and took medication for a long time which results in a lot of bad side effects to her, the most troublesome one was her hormones dysfunctional, depression and anxiety; my husband was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. With our new lifestyle, we are now all cure and free of drugs. I went to school to study health, and become an educated coach. Now I help my family and anybody else that wants to change their lifestyle. I work with all my passion doing what I most love in life.
